The Innovation Conference, held from 9:00am to 12:30pm, will feature a range of exciting sessions, including industry talks, presentations from UOW start-ups, selected student thesis and project showcases, and a dynamic panel discussion with representatives from industry, academia, and the student body.
Running alongside the conference is the Innovation Exhibition, held from 1:00pm to 3:30pm, where students from the annual Engineering Design and Management courses will display their innovative team-based projects developed during their second and third years. These projects are part of:
- ECTE250 – Engineering Design and Management 2
- ECTE351 – Engineering Design and Management 3
In these courses, students work through the initial four phases of the product design cycle. They collaborate in teams, using staff as “costed” advisors, and gain essential experience in project management, social and ethical considerations, engineering test methodologies, and human factors like psychology and ergonomics.
This event not only showcases student innovation but also provides a unique networking opportunity to engage with upcoming engineering graduates.
