Less stress, more laughs with Anthony Ackroyd
Comedian and laughter expert Anthony Ackroyd will be on campus to help students and staff “STRESS LESS, LAUGH MORE” during a lunchtime workshop on Tuesday 16 September.
“Let’s face it, stress sucks,” Ackroyd said. "Stress can rob us of happiness, deplete our energy, create tension with others and prevent us from reaching our full potential. The physical, emotional and mental benefits of laughter are the ultimate antidote to the effects of stress. Having the skills to use laughter to relieve stress is so valuable for anyone dealing with the pressure of study. And it’s fun.”
The workshop is being held by UOW Wellbeing Centre as part of the UOW Goes Global program. Participants will learn new skills and strategies to reduce stress and increase the levels of humour and laughter they experience on a daily basis.
“Stress management is an ongoing concern for staff and students, particularly international students. This event aims to provide participants with a few simple coping mechanisms in a fun and memorable way,” Naomi Reid, Wellbeing Centre Coordinator, said.
is a comedian and the founder and CEO of The Laughter Advantage. Anthony has worked extensively throughout Australia, USA, UK, New Zealand, South America and Asia, producing laughter live in front of audiences.
