UOW and TAHPI to deliver health services education in Dubai

The ¾«¶«´«Ã½ of ¾«¶«´«Ã½ (UOW) in Dubai is partnering with one of the largest health planning firms in the world to deliver a range of courses for students in Dubai from 2015.

The courses, which will be delivered with , a NSW-based healthcare firm, cater for technical and management professionals across a range of sectors preparing to meet rapidly increasing demand for high-quality health facilities and services in the Middle East. 

UOW Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Wellings said the partnership would equally benefit UOW students in Dubai and the wider community.

“This partnership is demonstrative of UOW’s strategic push to provide world-class education that meets the needs of today’s fast growing industries around the world, including in the Middle East, ” Professor Wellings said.

Course modules will address the process of hospital planning and execution, including Health Facility Planning, Health Service Planning, Biomedical Equipment Planning and Health Facility Operational Commissioning.

The courses are expected to attract local professionals in the UAE in various sectors and roles, including healthcare investors, consultants, contractors, hospital operators, as well as Gulf Cooperation Council Government officials.

A recent MOU signing in Dubai was attended by number of dignitaries, including the Honourable John Ajaka MLC, Minister for Disability Services, Ageing and the Illawarra in New South Wales; Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Wellings CBE and UOW Brand Ambassador Adam Gilchrist AM.
