The ¾«¶«´«Ã½ of ¾«¶«´«Ã½ (UOW) has outperformed all public universities in Australia, as well as all NSW universities, in the overall satisfaction of undergraduate students.

The recent update of the Federal Government’s data showed UOW students are more satisfied with their overall studies and student experience than most other university students in the country.

A ranking of the overall scores reveals that UOW ranks first nationally in the fields of Engineering and Teacher Education. UOW also ranks number one in NSW/ACT in the subject areas of Agriculture and Environmental Studies, Business and Management, Communications, Engineering, Health Services, Law, Medicine and Teacher Education, and second in NSW for Computer Sciences, Creative Arts, Nursing, Science and Mathematics and Social Work.

QILT data reveals the ¾«¶«´«Ã½ was ranked in the top 10 nationally across most of the student experience categories of overall quality of educational experience, teaching quality, learner engagement, learning resources, student support and skills development.

UOW Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Wellings, CBE said he was delighted to see student satisfaction remaining at high levels at UOW.

“We are very pleased with the results in this survey, particularly as the data comes from the students themselves,” he said.

“We are continually focusing our efforts on providing our students with a quality education and a personalised experience that prepares them for their future careers.”

The data also shows high levels of satisfaction among UOW graduates in both undergraduate and postgraduate fields, with excellent results for the ¾«¶«´«Ã½ in overall satisfaction, teaching scale and skills scale.

QILT helps students and their families make informed choices about their higher education options by bringing together survey data from all Australian universities about students’ experiences and graduate job outcomes. The surveys cover the student life cycle from commencement to employment.

UOW recently extended its offering to the greater south west Sydney region, with the taking place last week and a range of new scholarship programs announced to support local students. One hundred and fifty students have enrolled to study at the new campus so far, with the first intake of students arriving in November 2016 to undertake the UOW College ¾«¶«´«Ã½ Access Program.
