Prestigious rankings place MBA among top 100 globally
UOW recognised for holistic approach to business education
The ¾«¶«´«Ã½ of ¾«¶«´«Ã½ (UOW) has been ranked in the top 10 in Australia for its global Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.
Released late last month, the QS World ¾«¶«´«Ã½ Global Rankings 2019 reveal the best business schools in the world for getting a job or becoming an entrepreneur.
UOW’s Sydney Business School was recognised for both its MBA and its Master of Business, with the latter ranked number two in Australia and in the top 100 worldwide.
The Master of Business is suitable for managers seeking to further their career in a specialised field of business. UOW Sydney Business School’s MBA is designed for experienced professionals with ambition and drive who wish to develop their responsible and sustainable leadership skills.
Professor Charles Areni, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business, was thrilled that UOW’s Sydney Business School’s postgraduate degrees continue to be listed alongside the best business schools in the world.
He said it reflects the school’s comprehensive approach to business education, which focuses on the importance of working within the global economy.
“At UOW’s Sydney Business School we decided to move away from an old-style degree with unconnected functional silos to an integrated MBA where all subjects capture an overriding theme that defines the student experience,” said Professor Areni (pictured).
“Given our research expertise in areas like responsible management, social marketing, business ethics, and forensic accounting and finance, we decided to focus the entire MBA learning experience around developing sustainable business models for the global economy.”
UOW’s Master of Business was ranked 76 globally in the Master of Management category, climbing one spot from last year.
It was one of only two Australian programs in the top 100. Additionally, the Master of Business was in the top spot for Value for Money in Australia and in the top 20 globally.
“This internationally recognised Masters program is built around a foundation of core subjects that provide students with a balanced orientation to modern business principles and practices,” Professor Areni said.
