BUSHFIRES

Dr Owen Price can speak about bushfires. His research focuses on bushfire risk and the impact on human health, houses and the environment. Dr Price is a Senior Research Fellow with the Centre for Environmental Risk Management of Bushfires at UOW. He recently developed a new method for mapping bushfire risk based on past fire patterns.

TWITTER鈥橲 POLITICAL ADVERTISING BAN

Professor Charles Areni can provide commentary on Twitter鈥檚 new policy banning political ads . He says 鈥淚f social media companies begin filtering political content, would this not also give them the power to distribute politically advantageous messages?鈥. Prof Areni is the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business.

WORLD CHILDREN'S DAY - WEDNESDAY

Professor Tony Okely is available for interviews about World Children鈥檚 Day (Wednesday 20 November). This year World Children鈥檚 Day also coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. He is a Senior Professor in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Director of Research at Early Start.

 

CRISIS IN BOLIVIA

Dr Luis Gomez Romero is available for interviews about the current situation in Bolivia. Dr Gomez Romero is a Senior Lecturer in Human Rights, Constitutional Law and Legal Theory in the School of Law.

CLIMATE CHANGE

Dr Adam Lucas can provide comment about climate change policy. Dr Lucas鈥 research focuses on energy policy response to climate change and the peaking of world oil, coal and gas production. He is a Senior Lecturer in Science and Technology Studies in the School of Humanities and Social Inquiry.
