COLES EMPLOYEES UNDERPAID

Dr Betty Frino can provide commentary about Coles admitting to underpaying employees. Dr Frino is a Lecturer in the School of Management, Operations and Marketing. Her research covers remuneration systems and wage setting, labour regulation, workplace productivity and pay equity.


INTEREST RATES

Dr Paul Mazzola is available for interviews about interest rates. Dr Mazzola is a Lecturer in banking and finance in the Faculty of Business. He has more than 25 years’ banking and finance experience in the Australian, European and Asian Pacific markets. Only available for phone interviews.

E-CIGARETTES

Dr Jody Morgan can speak about e-cigarettes and the growing trend of vaping. She recently filmed an interview and said e-cigarettes can be used to vape illicit drugs, a factor that hasn’t been considered in the legalisation of these devices. Dr Morgan will be speaking at the American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT 2020) in New York on 14 March about e-cigarette research that’s being undertaken at UOW. She is a toxicology expert from the School of Chemistry and Molecular Bioscience. Not available on Wednesday.

FIRST HOME-BUYERS DEPOSIT SCHEME

Professor Alex Frino can provide commentary about data released by the government on the first homebuyer deposit scheme. Prof Frino is a Professor of Economics and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Strategy). Only available on Wednesday.

THE WAR ON WEEDS

Associate Professor Nicholas Gill and Dr Sonia Graham are available for interviews about the Fenner Conference on the Environment which is currently underway at Charlotte Pass in Kosciuszko National Park. The conference seeks to transform weed management in Australia. Prof Gill and Dr Graham are from the School of Geography and Sustainable Communities. Both are available for phone interviews.

 

WHO AND UNICEF REPORT ON THE FUTURE OF THE WORLD’S CHILDREN

Professor Tony Okely is available for interviews about new research being published in The Lancet on Wednesday that discusses the health and future of children worldwide. Prof Okely is a Professor of Child Health and Education and Director of Early Start.
