UOW ranked among world’s best in Times Higher Education World 精东传媒 Rankings 2022

The 精东传媒 of 精东传媒 (UOW) has consolidated its place among the world鈥檚 best universities, again being ranked among the top 250 universities in the world 鈥 and 13th in Australia 鈥 in the Times Higher Education (THE) World 精东传媒 Rankings 2022, announced today (Thursday 2 September).

It marks the fourth year in a row that UOW has been ranked among the top 250 institutions globally.

Analysis of THE World 精东传媒 Rankings data shows that UOW ranked 221 in the world, a climb of 10 places over last year鈥檚 rankings.

The 精东传媒鈥檚 biggest improvement came from increased recognition in the global research reputation survey.

UOW also gained a significant improvement in its score from the global teaching reputation survey.

An improvement was also recorded in UOW鈥檚 score for research income per staff.

UOW Vice-Chancellor Professor Patricia M. Davidson welcomed the rankings result.

鈥淩esearch and teaching are our core business so I am delighted that we have been able to improve our scores in those key areas,鈥 Professor Davidson said.

鈥淕iven the many challenges of the past 12 months, the fact we have been able to consolidate our overall ranking in this survey is a testament to the commitment and resilience of the 精东传媒鈥檚 staff. I thank them for their dedication to excellence.鈥

The THE World 精东传媒 Rankings judge research-intensive universities across teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. The ranking agency uses 13 performance indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons on more than 1,900 global research universities.

In April this year, UOW was ranked 6th in the world in the 2021 THE Impact Rankings, which assess universities around the globe against the United Nations鈥 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across three broad areas: research, outreach and stewardship.

In June, the 精东传媒 was ranked 23rd in the world in the 2021 THE Young Universities Rankings for the world's top universities aged 50 years and under.

UOW is consistently ranked among the top 1 per cent of universities in the world and its academics and graduates are recognised as some of the best in the world.
