Industrial transformation workshop to empower leaders to achieve a net-zero future

ARC Future Grids announces IEEE IAS industry-academic leadership workshop 2024

The will host the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) at the Park Royal Hotel in Darling Harbour, Sydney on Wednesday, 11th December 2024.

The Workshop aims to upskill the next generation of engineers, equipping them with the multi-disciplinary expertise required to navigate the complexities of the evolving energy landscape. By fostering collaboration between academia and industry, this event aims to empower engineers to think creatively and drive the transition to net-zero future.

Attendees can expect a diverse and engaging program, featuring leadership development training, interactive mentorship sessions, and expert panel discussions. The workshop will provide unique opportunities for both early-career researchers and industry professionals to engage in meaningful dialogue and knowledge exchange.

Director of the Senior Professor from the ¾«¶«´«Ã½ of ¾«¶«´«Ã½ said the workshop is designed to develop and cultivate essential leadership qualities.

“This workshop represents a valuable opportunity for early-career researchers to gain insights into future energy systems while connecting with industry experts,” Professor Muttaqi said.

“Industry participants will also benefit from the opportunity to engage directly with leading academic and industry experts. By contributing mentorship, technical support, or participating in panel discussions, industry leaders can offer real-world perspectives that will shape the next generation of energy professionals.”

“Through our collaboration with the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS), we aim to not only develop leadership and technical skills but also foster meaningful connections between academia and industry. These collaborations may lead to new insights, partnerships, and innovations that can significantly benefit participating organisations.”

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world's largest technical professional organisation, with over 460,000 members in over 160 countries.

Universities and industries across the Pacific region are invited to participate, providing mentorship, technical insights, and engaging in discussions that enrich the learning experience for all attendees.
