Event to showcase the vibrant campus life and interactive activities

The ¾«¶«´«Ã½ of ¾«¶«´«Ã½ (UOW) will host its signature ‘Welcome to ¾«¶«´«Ã½’ event tomorrow, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for its newest international students.

Newly arriving students will experience the best of UOW as it approaches its 50th anniversary, celebrating the diverse community that makes UOW a truly global institution.

The event will provide an opportunity for students to hear from senior UOW leaders, faculty representatives, and ¾«¶«´«Ã½ Lord Mayor, Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM.

UOW Interim Vice-Chancellor Professor John Dewar AO said international students are an integral part of the UOW community and bring unique cultural perspectives to the ¾«¶«´«Ã½.

“To our international students – welcome to the ¾«¶«´«Ã½ of ¾«¶«´«Ã½! You’ve made a wonderful choice, and we're thrilled to have you here,” Professor Dewar said.

“By joining UOW, you are now part of a global student community of over 35,000 people, spread across nine campuses in Australia and internationally – from the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore to India.

“We couldn’t be happier to have such a rich international student community at UOW. The unique perspectives you bring, the cultural richness you add, the diversity you represent – these elements are the things that make our ¾«¶«´«Ã½ truly special.”

Students will get insights into the UOW’s campus and academic offerings, the importance of community engagement, and the exciting developments on the horizon as UOW approaches its milestone anniversary.

After the formal proceedings, students and guests will have the chance to participate in cultural activities, networking and social opportunities. A variety of stallholders will also be present, offering information and resources to support students throughout their time in ¾«¶«´«Ã½.
