From campus anniversaries to ground-breaking achievements, the year has been marked by a series of celebrations, reunions, and noteworthy events that showcase the university's commitment to academic excellence, community collaboration, and innovation.
Hats off to our new graduates
The January, April and October graduations in ¾«¶«´«Ã½ and the South Coast were an opportunity to into the alumni community. Our honorary awards also highlighted individuals recognized for their immense contributions to the university and the broader community, including Aunty Joyce Donovan, beloved Elder and social justice advocate.
A platform for empowerment
UOW continued to champion diversity and empowerment with the Entrepreneurial Women's Breakfasts at iAccelerate. The events held in April and September provided a platform for women to share their experiences, insights, and successes, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and leadership.
Two decades, one fast ride
In July, the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences (EIS) celebrated UOW Motorsport's momentous 20th anniversary and a heart-warming reunion to mark the historic championship victory of 2003. The team's journey over the past two decades has been a testament to innovation, teamwork, and a passion for motorsports.
Dubai campus marks 30 years
UOW Dubai reached a significant milestone, celebrating 30 years of academic achievement in the vibrant city. The campus has been a beacon of education and innovation in the Middle East, contributing to the global reputation of the ¾«¶«´«Ã½ of ¾«¶«´«Ã½.
UOW sets foot in India
In September, we witnessed a historic moment as UOW extended its global reach by establishing a campus in India. The inauguration in GIFT City was accompanied by an identity unveiling ceremony featuring UOW Ambassador and cricketing legend, Adam Gilchrist.
Leadership and talent shine
Exceptional graduates were honoured at the UOW Alumni Awards, where leadership, creativity and social impact were celebrated. The stories of alumni making a difference in their fields and communities serve as an inspiration to current and future generations.
Yours and Owls takes centre stage
The good vibes kept coming in October as the Yours and Owls Festival found a new home on the ¾«¶«´«Ã½ campus. The festival brought together artists, students, and the local community in a celebration of culture and diversity.
Sutherland Campus turns 20
At a in November, the UOW Sutherland proudly commemorated its 20th anniversary, reflecting on a history of fostering academic excellence and community collaboration. The campus has played a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape in the region and we are so excited for the next two decades.
A celebration of innovation and expression
UOW celebrated four decades of nurturing creativity and artistic expression, marking the anniversary of 40 Years of Creative Arts. The university's commitment to fostering artistic talent was showcased through various events and exhibitions, highlighting the impact of the creative arts on the UOW community.
Looking to the future
As 2023 draws to a close, UOW proudly raises the flag, signalling the countdown to its 50th anniversary in 2025. The university looks forward to continuing its legacy of excellence, innovation, and community impact in the years to come.
